Getting into Alaska

First 24 hours of trip:

Got first class to Seattle. Greek yogurt and fruit breakfast.
Ran down fourteen terminals to make it to anchorage flight. Made it in time but Couldn't fit on first anchorage flight. Waited two hours for next flight and made it by a MIRACLE. Exactly two people didn't show up and we got to get on! Flew into Alaska and was in wow at how grand it is. Wide open spaces covered in trees and mist.

Fell asleep in RV for five hours waiting for the girls to fly in. Drove to airport to pick them up, went through all pick ups but they weren't there. Drove to the other terminal which turned out to be the creepiest thing--got stuck in closing flashing railroad gates in our RV and freaked out a bit until we finally got back to the first terminal. They were there finally and we all set off for Walmart. It's 1:30 am by now and the 24 hr Walmart is actually closed. We drive to another store and finally get all the food we need. We then drive three hours through the night to our campground and miss the turn off. So we have to drive back a mile or so to actually get in.

Everyone's asleep except Mike and I. He drove for a good hour and half on the last leg. We got to our site and I got out to help Mike park the massive RV in freezing rain. We got it in our site and then realized we needed to make sure the RV was level on the ground. We were too high on the front and that would mess up some of the appliances. So then we got the four wooden slabs from the trunk and with our headlights we(actually I did it because I'm smaller haha) got under the RV placed the slabs under the four back tires. Mike pulled the RV up on top of them and we were finally ready for bed!!

I laid down in my sleeping bag and had this overwhelming feeling of relief and gratitude for this adventurous family that I married into. This trip was already turning out to be a memorable one hahahha and I was so glad I got to be there and be apart of it!
